Roxani’s Music
Her artistic voice is shaped by a warm, expressive sound world and a strong emotional and narrative sensitivity, often inspired by the relationship between music and extra-musical sources such as poetry, movement, visual art, and nature.
A distinctive element of her work is the creation of multi-layered sonic environments, where acoustic instruments merge with electronic textures. Through this interplay, she explores contrasts between stillness and intensity, clarity and complexity, structure and spontaneity. Improvisation plays a central role, allowing space for intuition and the emergence of raw, internal expression.
Her music often inhabits the space between opposing forces — between sound and silence, motion and suspension, external noise and inner stillness — shaped by an ongoing tension where opposing forces seem to collide and coexist, creating immersive and atmospheric experiences that invite deep listening. In her work, the “noise” of contemporary life is transformed into a reflective sonic environment, opening a space for introspection and awareness.
Her music invites the listener to slow down, reconnect with their inner world, and rediscover a sense of simplicity, purity, and freedom within the complexity of modern life.
Education
Roxani began her musical training at the National Conservatory of Athens, where she completed advanced studies in music theory, harmony, counterpoint, and piano. In 2013, she was awarded a Piano Diploma with Distinction and Second Prize.
She pursued postgraduate studies in Music Composition at Royal Holloway, University of London (2016–2017) under Mark Bowden, graduating with Distinction. She graduated from the Department of Music Science and Art at the University of Macedonia (2011–2015) and earned a Master’s Degree in Composition for Film, Theatre, and Performing Arts from the Ionian University (2015–2017).
Roxani has also studied composition with Lina Tonia, and jazz piano and orchestration with Stavros Lantsias and Grigoris Simadopoulos.

- Zero Star Cognac was selected through an open call and recorded by the Greek National Symphony Orchestra (ERT, 2019), conducted by Zoe Zenodi

Professional Activity & Collaborations
Roxani has composed music for Cosmote History TV (Ta Opla tou Agona, dir. Christos Karakepelis) and has received commissions for two orchestral works by El Sistema Greece at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, including Lullaby Project and Blending Melodies (2022–2023).
She served as editor of Jazz Greek Book (2024–2026), contributing to its artistic direction and concert programming. In theatre, she has collaborated with directors including Effie Meravoglou and Giannis Fasois, and has created orchestrations in collaboration with artists such as Theodore and tenor John Ellis.
Her music has been performed by ensembles and orchestras such as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Greek National Symphony Orchestra of ERT, Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, El Sistema Greece, and CHROMA Ensemble, among others.
Her works have been presented at major venues and festivals including the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, Athens Concert Hall (Megaron), Festival Mixtur (Spain), Plucomp International Music Festival (France), and Lamp Composition Academy (Canada).
Roxani is also active as a freelance pianist, performing her own works as well as repertoire spanning film music, jazz, and tango.
She is a member of the Union of Greek Composers.
