Roxani is an experienced piano, music theory and music composition teacher with more than 70 students over the last 14 years. She currently teaches Piano and Music Theory at Musical Praxis Conservatory. 

She also gives private lessons in piano, music theory, orchestration and composition, both online and in person, as well as offering group courses and workshops in composition, music creativity, orchestration, and film music composition.

Composition

In this lesson you will develop your creative and technical skills, as well as your own distinctive compositional voice. You will learn how to gain control over and develop essential musical elements such as pitch, harmony, rhythm, structure, texture, and timbre.

Film Music: Theory, Analysis and Practice

In this lesson you will explore the fundamental principles of film music theory, focusing on the communicational and functional role of music in film. You will also learn the process of scoring short film clips and developing thematic material, including the creation of themes and leitmotifs. The lessons further examine the relationship between image and music, as well as the different functions of film music within specific cues.

Modern and classical piano

In this lesson you will develop both your technical skills and musical expression across a wide range of styles, from classical repertoire to contemporary piano music. The focus is on building a solid foundation while also encouraging creativity, interpretation and personal musical voice. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level, needs and goals, whether they are preparing for exams, performances, or playing for personal enjoyment.

  • Technique: scales, arpeggios, etudes, hand coordination, finger independence, tone production, pedaling, aural skills and sight-reading
  • Repertoire: classical works from different periods, as well as modern piano music including film music, jazz-influenced pieces, pop arrangements and contemporary styles
  • Creative activities: improvisation, chord progressions, lead sheet playing, harmonisation, arranging pieces, and developing musical ideas beyond the score
